Women Honoring Women

Based in Palm Beach Gardens, was founded  in 2006. We are a group of women that has been honoring women for many years previously and have enjoyed every moment. Ruth Kraft is the owner of Palm Beach Doula and Essence of Image, Cindi Howard Castle Is the Owner of DoulaWorks We needed to expand our business office to be able to meet the needs of the women in the area, which has been for some time, lacking.

Our groups & classes are held most often in Northern Palm Beach County at the Peaceful Place on Northlake Blvd. Our FREE pregnancy support group is held at the Palm Beach Gardens Fire Station. We also have seminars and classes at other locations as well, such as Babies R Us in West Palm Beach and all the way down to Lake Worth.  We Strive to make classes accesible to everyone throughout the county.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Women Honoring Women, Ruth Kraft,  has been working with women and mastering her ability to nurture in a profound for way her entire life. She was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland, where after high school, worked as a dispatcher for Whirlpool Corporation where she gained much of the skills she has in working with the public.  She quit her corporate job to move to South Florida to stay at home and raise her daughter and be closer to family. After researching and had great interest in the birth process for many years prior until her choice to turn it into a career, Ruth has been certified as a doula since 2003. She is certified through 2 of the largest doula organizations for doulas, DONA (Doulas of North America) and CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association).  Both are recognized for their excellence in training both doulas and childbirth educators. Ruth Kraft is also certified through FOCEP (Florida Outreach Childbirth Education Project) as a childbirth educator as well as a HypnoBirthing instructor through “HypnoBirthing, the Mongan Method,” the leading HypnoBirthing method available today. Ruth has also the special gift of creative photography. Over the last few years has captured hundreds of precious moments of new mothers in maternity, birth and newborn photography. Ruth also photorgaphs Families, weddings, small events and much more, as time permits. She is honored to be invited to be a part in familes documenting these wonderful events they are expierencing on film.

Ruth's children, Emmaleigh Victoria born 2000 and Jacob Michael born 2001, are her greatest wokrs yet. She has experience with breastfeeding, attachment parenting, Hypnobirthing, Lamaze, homebirths, twins, breech vaginal births, special needs babies, preemies and more! She has taken courses such as Redirecting Children’s Behavior (RCB) and Conscious Discipline for the purpose of peaceful parenting. I’ve also taken courses for personal growth that have been life changing for her.

Cindi Howard-Castle is married to her best friend, Robert. They have 5 children and Two grandsons, Ari, June 25, 2003 and Daniel Born Aug 21, 2007. They also have a grand duaghter, Nijah Rionah, who was born into heaven 8/22/01. Cindi has a special understanding of losing a baby both of her own and that of her granddaughter. She has a tremendous amount of compassion. The loss of a baby impacts the whole family, and Cindi understands this loss is life changing for many. Cindi has many years of expierence with natural birth, cesrean birth, breastfeeding, co sleeping, attachement pareting, cloth diapering, natual family planning and much more.

Cindi has had the honor of providing labor support and other prental services since 1981. She recieved her training through DONA (Doulas of North America) in 1995, a FOCEP (Florida Outreach Childbirth Education and Parenting Program) certified Childbirth Educator since 1993, and a Breastfeeding Specialist with training through WIC / La Leche Peer Counseling Program since 1993 and Lamaze Breastfeeding Specialist Program since 1996. Cindi has expierence with multipals, high risk pregnany, other specail issues relating to pregnacy and parenting. As well as many continuning education workshops throught the years on many birth and parenting topics.

Cindi was born in Ohio, and grew up in Palm Beach County, Florida and has lived here for over 35 years. She has been in the Maternal Child Health field since 1986. She worked 12 years (1986 to 1998) as a care coordinator / home visitor / educator for Healthily Mothers / Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County Inc., (HMHB), a private non-profit organization that assists pregnant women in accessing prenatal care through Medicaid or through a sliding fee program for families who are uninsured. HMHB also provides pre and postnatal education. She also successfully implemented Childbirth Education Classes at HMHB, as well as an infant / toddler play group. Cindi worked for the Palm Beach County Health Unit / WIC in 1989 for 1 year in a pilot program as the First Breastfeeding Peer Counselor which made way for the current peer couclor program still running.  Cindi was a very active with both Le' Lache and The Palm Beach County Breastfeeding Coalition for many years.

Cindi was a guest presenter at several workshops in 1995 and 1996 at the "Healthy Start Sharing Solutions" Conference in Orlando Florida. The topics she covered were: "Consumers Empowering Consumers" and "Healthy Family Beginnings". She also has taught several workshops and in-services locally on various topics including: Newborn / Infant Care, Attachment Style Parenting, Labor Support, Breastfeeding, and Childbirth Education and has attended numerous continuing education workshops and conferences on many topics relating to birth, breastfeeding, parenting, domestic violence, child abuse and social work. In February 1997, she hosted a DONA Doula Training workshop, with Penny Simpkin as the trainer, which took place in West Palm Beach Florida. Mentoring Doulas and Childbirth Educators in training has been a large part of the continuing community services she provides.

Cindi Draws on her personal expierence as a Woman, Daugher, Sister, Friend, Mother and Nana, as well as her professional expierences to provide, nurturing, education, compassion and above all love to new familes.
